Good Ancestor Book Club: March 2021 Selection
Dear Good Ancestors,
For as long as I can remember, I've loved books.
They have been the one thing, throughout the entire course of my lifetime, that have always brought me a true sense of joy, comfort and meaning.
Losing myself in the pages of a book always feels like coming… home. And that's why it has always felt like a guilty pleasure to me that I get to interview some of the most incredible authors through Good Ancestor Podcast.
After two years of hosting the podcast and a long-burning desire to share my love of books with our book-loving audience, I am so excited to share the brand new Good Ancestor Book Club.
Our very first selection is The Prophets by Robert Jones, Jr.
An instant New York Times bestseller, The Prophets is a singular and stunning debut novel about the forbidden union between two enslaved young men on a Deep South plantation, the refuge they find in each other, and a betrayal that threatens their existence.
I had the immense pleasure of interviewing Robert for an upcoming Good Ancestor Podcast episode that you don't want to miss - it drops on March 11th.
In the meantime, we'd love to invite you to join us as a member of Good Ancestor Book Club where we'll be discussing the book in more detail, and joining Robert in live (virtual) conversation on March 25th.
If you are not currently a member of the Good Ancestor Book Club, we would love to have you join us!
You can find out more about the book club at www.goodancestorbookclub.com. To join the book club simply join or upgrade your membership to the Good Ancestor Book Club member tier, where both monthly and annual subscriptions are available.
We begin our book discussions next week on Monday 5th July, and our author event with Pragya will be on Thursday 29th July.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. Looking forward to another incredible ride with another phenomenal book.
