Hi, I’m Layla Saad.

I’m the creator and educator behind Claim Your Space, the founder of Become A Good Ancestor, and the New York Times best-selling author of Me and White Supremacy.

I combine my work as an educator—on the topics of race, identity, leadership, personal transformation, and social change—with my unique intersection of identities as an East African, Arab, British, Black, Muslim woman who was raised in the West and lives in the Middle East. This course is driven by my desire to honour my ancestors, to support a community of change-seekers, and to leave a legacy of healing and liberation for those who will come after I’m gone. My hope is that Claim Your Space helps you leave a legacy of your own, with contributions that are aligned with your talents, strengths, and lived experiences.

  • Claim Your Space is for BIPOC and white people. The content acknowledges the lived experience of both groups. In some moments, we name this explicitly while offering different suggestions for those navigating varying degrees of privilege and levels of systemic harm. All are encouraged to sign up.

  • The course content will be released over four weeks, with the first module being available upon purchase. In addition to guided journal work, each module offers 30-60 minutes of video and audio lessons, depending on the topic. You’ll have lifetime access to all the content so that you can complete the course at your own pace.
